Adopting a system-wide approach to career-related learning means bringing all staff together to consider how and why this work is important. Too often we focus only on how and spend little time on the why. For many administrators and educators, not having the why is a roadblock to their progress. In this session, led by the Chief Innovation and Engagement Officer from the Cajon Valley Union School District, a district that has integrated career-related learning starting in the early grades, you'll learn about the foundational research grounding the Cajon career-development model that answered the why for many teachers. Explore why students' strengths, interests and values are core elements of the model and the supporting research. Finally, explore recent research and reporting to support why career-related learning deserves to have a priority in your school and district.
